Counselling and psychological services can give you the space, confidentiality and time you need to make positive changes in how you feel, act and navigate the world.  If we have been made to feel we are not enough, or had to endure life's hardships, counselling can remind us of our potential and to feel a greater sense of agency through making choices from a place of self-awareness.

I have worked as a specialist clinician in a range of roles; a specialist addictions therapist, a specialist mental health therapist, a specialist eating disorders therapist, and I was the CEO of my own registered mental health charity which was voted charity of the year.  I currently work as a specialist psychotherapist developing a new service for the Local Government providing counselling for the most vulnerable and at risk young people across the city. I also offer private counselling sessions. I offer personalised, individually tailored counselling based on the unique needs of each person.  I have worked for decades as a specialist therapist in a range of settings within the NHS, the local authority and the third sector.  I hold professional registration wih the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I have had my work published and held up as examples of clinical excellence due to the life changing impact to patients and clients from our work together, and my work as a therapist has frequently been held up as examples of best practice adopted by psychologists, therapists, cpn's etc.

 I have a 1st Class Hons BSc, MSc in pluralistic counselling and MBACP registration with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have done a vast array of professional training including; Attachment Based Interviewing, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, AMBIT (Adolescent Mentalization Based Integrative Therapy) etc;

I've delivered groups to patients in a range of NHS regions and private settings and delivered workshops on:

anxiety management,

spirituality and compassion,

assertiveness training,

specialist patient interest groups,

creative and art therapy;

started advocacy for mental health awareness which was subsequently rolled out as regional roadshows.

In addition, I have the open offer of a Doctorate and was offered the first cross school Doctorate between health, medicine and spirituality.  I have worked in the NHS as a clinician in a range of services including adult mental health for severe and enduring mental health problems, forensic mental health services, learning disabilies and palliative care among others as a therapist registered with the HCPC.  I have completed all of the training for Edinburgh Rape Crisis and supported people in abusive relationships.  I am LGBTQ+ inclusive and I have had my client work written up for professional journal submission and published nationally.

Life can get difficult; time shared with a professional Therapist can make things feel better. I care about your well-being, and it would be a privilege to share part of your journey with you.
